Sam Claflin is the new Hunger Games cast as it is now become official that he will play Finnick Odair in the upcoming movie sequel, Catching Fire.
Hunger Games Cast: Sam Claflin as Finnick Odair
Finnick Odair is a Hunger Games character from District 4. He was a former victor (65th Hunger Games) at a young age (14) and will be in the 3rd Quarter Quell. Annie Cresta is his wife.
Odair was mentored by Mags, another former victor who will be played by Lynn Cohen in the movie, when he competed in the arena. He used a net and trident as his weapons of choice. He was described in the book having an extraordinary physical skill and pretty popular in the Capitol.
Claflin, an English actor who stands 5’11”, will bring to life the role of Finnick Odair. He loves football, however, due to an injury his sporting career was in jeopardy. That’s when he took up performing arts and joined a drama school. He graduated with a 3-year acting degree.
