Jena Malone is offered the highly contested role of Johanna Mason in the Hunger Games movie sequel, Catching Fire, according to Hollywood Reporter.
The Sucker Punch actress is one of many actresses who auditioned to play the Hunger Games cast, tribute Johanna Mason, who was a former victor from District 7 and uses axe as her weapon. It is a role that many coveted as it will be part of the sequel as well as the trilogy’s last installment, Mockingjay. It has been reported that model Zoe Aggeliki was also in the running to play the character.
According to Hollywood Reporter’s sources, Malone got the offer and is already in the negotiation stage. This will trash reports that Aggeliki was the front-runner. Johanna Mason is an unlikely ally of Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark in the Hunger Games sequel.
